Was this review helpful? I appreciated the freedom of a flexible work schedule and the ability to telecommute on occasion. My manager was in a different location, but I feel I till got the support I needed from management. Good work home balance, Management is fair, Training is thorough, Positive working environment, Good work hours, excellent benefits with paid time off.

I loved working at Aetna because I am a People person and enjoyed helping the patients, However I was very dissappointed in the management, some workers were too laid back and did not take their job seriously,it was patients life and well being that was involved, also I did not like the fact that mostly everyone was on their Personal Cell phone during business hours.

Great pay and benefits. Great place to work. Great benefits and great people to work for. Fact paced work environment with a lot of overtime available.

Great working hours as well. Aetna is an organization that cares about it's employees. I found the organizational culture in Government Programs specifically the Medicaid division to be healthy, supportive and collaborative. It was truly a pay for performance organization with a fair opportunity for a work - life balance. Not a good full time job. Was not paid fairly and hours were not enough for a supervisor position. I had a vast work load that I was responsible for and not enough help or time to do it.

I was a supervisor and made one dollar more an hour than my crew. I worked at this company 13 yrs ago, im sure they improved since than so I don't want to say anything negatively towards a company I no longer work for. Aetna provides the tools needed to perform job.

Aetna provides the tools needed to perform your job functions. The company allows work from home. Which was great and more companies should offer it. Working at Aetna was great because it allowed me to work from home. Dealing with employees from large corporations. My co-worlkers worked well with each in solving billing and coverage issues with customers.

Immediately Lead was awesome, but managment as whole only cared about numbers. Meeting and exceeding requirements was the stressful part of job. Interaction with customers and the companies they worked for was fun and the companies would come in periodically with food and gifts to thank us.

Excellent company to work for with room for growth. I love working for Aetna as the company provides excellent opportunities for advancement, has wonderful work-life balance, great pay and benefits. It an organization I have recommended to many of my cohort who are seeking full-time employment. It was a fast past enviroment.

A typical day at Aetna was assisting individuals with the insurance needs. I learned many different things about health care needs for patients and how to assist clients in accessing proper healthcare. The management at Aetna was polite and courteous. The work place culture was like an extended family environment.

The hardest part about the job was the sad stories I would hear about clients inability to access the needed healthcare because of pre-existing conditions. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to assist clients with obtaining medical needs and they get off the phone happy and satisfied. A demanding job that offered significant financial rewards. A whirlwind environment during benefit season Sept - Nov.

I joined the organization not long after Aetna acquired US Healthcare and there were significant obstacles to deal with as a result. The job demanded extra hours, significantly so during benefit renewal season but the extra hours proved rewarding come bonus time.

I enjoyed my job at Aetna. She is super knowledgeable, consistent, fair, and communicative. The job itself is great if you have a type A personality and enjoy a combination of nursing and data entry. The work-life balance is awesome and it pays more than the bedside positions I have worked until now 13 years experience.

By far the best job I have ever had! Don't think that getting away from the bedside and being able to work from that you don't have to work hard or have good clinical judgement. Those that are unable to adapt to constantly changing workflows or lack exceptional organizational skills may find this position overwhelming. Although lots of opportunity for movement and growth. Can appear to be based on who you know rather than what you can bring to the role.

Great work place, great upper management and wonderful benefit. Worklife Balance, ongoing annual downsizings, slow to innovate. Challenge to hit numbers each year and end of year lay offs while an ongoing reality does not promote engaged employees or optimal performance.
